It is with great pleasure that the club would like to announce the appointment of Matthew Griffiths as our new Goalkeeping coach for next season. His past clubs include "Crewe Alex FC" and "Wrexham FC" as a youth player followed by spells at senior level with "Brymbo" and "Gresford" in the Cymru Alliance League as well as "Penycae","Connahs Quay", "Johnstown", he has also represented Wales at Under 18 level. After joining the Royal Air Force he represented "RAF Cyprus and the Combined services" as well as playing for "Anagennisi Germasogias FC" in the Cypriot 3 rd Division.
Commenting on the appointment Chairman Colin Jackson said, "This is another great appointment for the club and a position that is normally neglected at club level but we feel having a dedicated coach for this role will help and improve the standards of Goalkeeping at both youth and senior level.On behalf of everyone at the club i would like to take this opportunity to wish Matt every success in his new role.

Coach Appointment
Matthew shared his thoughts on his appointment, "I am very pleased to be coming on board the coaching staff at PenYCae FC. I am looking to working with all the 11 a side goalkeepers from the under 12’s through to both senior squads to help improve the standard of goalkeeping at the club. My aim is to combine the role while still playing at senior level for the club. I will aim to develop the players so that we can produce future generations of goalkeepers for Pen y Cae FC and possibly even go on to a higher standard of football. It’s a great time to be joining Pen Y Cae Fc with so much work done by the committee, I hope that I can be a part of taking the club forward for the future".
