Penycae Football Club are deeply saddened by the passing of our dear friend, long-standing club member, and true Penycae Football Club legend, Dave Lovell, known affectionately to all as "Bando."
Bando’s contributions to our club cannot be overstated. As our goalkeeper during our first ever season, he made his mark on the pitch, and years later, his dedication continued off it. He played a pivotal role in establishing our youth section, helping to build the foundation for future generations to enjoy the game he loved so dearly. His work as a committee member and his tireless efforts in securing the lease for our ground were instrumental in shaping the club we know today.
But beyond these achievements, Bando was the heart and soul of our club, serving as a superb groundsman over many years. His passion for ensuring our facilities were always in the best possible shape was unmatched. It's only fitting that a building at our grounds bears his name - a lasting tribute to a man whose commitment and spirit will forever be part of Penycae Football Club.
Our thoughts and deepest condolences go out to Dave’s family and friends during this difficult time. To honour his memory, both our senior and youth sections will hold a minute’s silence this weekend - a small gesture to remember a man who gave so much to our club.
Rest in peace, Bando. You will be missed, but never forgotten. 💙
