Penycae Football Club are delighted to announce that former Brickfield Rangers first team coach Steve Monk has joined the club as part of our first team coaching staff. Steve is a UEFA B Licence coach and brings with him a wealth of experience and knowledge that will be a major asset in helping us achieve our visions of pushing to the next level.
Upon his appointment Steve had a few words to say; “It was a hard decision to leave Brickfield Rangers after almost 40 years at the club, however this was a fantastic opportunity to work alongside Ian, Gav and Craig. Upon meeting with Ian and Gav it was clear to me that we all shared the same aim and vision for the club moving forward. We have a good group of players and I’m looking forward to working with them.”
Following the appointment First Team Manager, Ian Andrews gave his thoughts; “Steve joining us here at Penycae Football Club is a great addition to our current coaching set up. After having a meeting with Steve, it was clear he shared the same views and vision of which way we want the club to go. Our philosophy of giving young players an opportunity to play at a higher level is something he believes in, and knows that if players are good enough, they will get the chance of playing First Team Football. The both teams will train together as one and this will help the young players settle in well. The players have met Steve and are looking forward to working with him. I would like to welcome Steve personally to Penycae Football Club and I'm sure we're going to give it our all this season.”
