Penycae Football Club are saddened to confirm the departure of Ian Andrews from the coaching staff.
Ian has made the decision to step down from his role with immediate effect and gave his thoughts on what has been a difficult decision for him;
"After a long and hard decision, I have decided to step down from first team duties and take a break from senior football.
I have been involved with the senior section at Penycae Football Club for 20 years as a player and most recently as Manager for the last 2 years, it has come to a point where I am not enjoying football and getting the buzz I used to get on a Saturday morning getting ready.
I would like to thank Colin Jackson and Stuart Griffiths for giving me the opportunity to work with them and manage the first team, it's been a bit of a roller-coaster and my time has come to step away and give someone else the chance to work with the club and hopefully bring the good times back to Penycae Football Club.
The club has a bright future with a brilliant youth set up and many players coming through have represented the club at 1st team level including 7 from last seasons under 16s side, I would like to wish Ben Heath the best of luck with the job and I'm sure he will turn it around and get the club challenging again at the top end.
I'm now going to enjoy watching my son play football and spend some quality time with my family, also to reflect on my time as manager and maybe get back into football in the future.
Thanks again for everything, Ian Andrews."
The club would like to take this opportunity to thank Ian Andrews for everything he has done for us and the hard work he's put in both on and off the field. We wish you all the very best in your future endeavours.
