Penycae Football Club were delighted last night when news broke that first-team coach Matt Griffiths has been given the all-clear and has won his battle with testicular cancer.
Matty has been a big part of our football club for many years having played in the youth and senior teams and also as a coach again with both youth and senior sides and we couldn't be any prouder of the strength and courage he's shown during these very tough times and are overjoyed that he has come through the other side and is now officially cancer free!
We would like to take this opportunity to raise awareness and explain the importance of checking your testicles.
1. Check one testicle at a time using both hands (after a hot bath or shower).
2. Examine your testicle using your fingers and thumb (it's normal for one to be bigger than the other)
3. Get to know your epididymus (sperm cord)
4. Feel for lumps, changes in size or any irregularities (not normal for you)

and of course, if you have any doubts please see a doctor immediately!
