It is with great pleasure that the club would like to announce the appointment of Matt Torgerson as our new assistant First Team Manager. His past Club's and roles include reserve team manager as Rhostyllen as well as assistant manager at Saltney Town along with the role of Goalkeeping Coach at various clubs including Wrexham AFC centre of Developement, Bangor City FC Under 19's, Saltney Town and Penycae FC. As well as being involved in Coaching Matt has also worked off the field as commercial Manager at club's like Bangor, Buckley and Flint.
Commenting on the appointment Chairman Colin Jackson said, "This is another great appointment for the club and another positive step in the right direction for us. Matt brings a huge amount of experience both on and off the field which can only benefit the club, having worked with us at the club before i have no doubt he will be a great addition to the first team management set up. On behalf of everyone at the club i would like to take this opportunity to wish Matt every success in his new role. There will be further announcements in the next few few weeks as we strive to get the club back to where we feel it should be"
Matt shared his thoughts on his appointment, " I am over the moon to come back to the club after a few years away. Having worked with Andrews, Gav and Gars while we were in the Huws Gray Alliance I understand the way they like their sides to play football and its one I mirror. Penycae for me is a sleeping giant, and off the field they have one of the best setups in the Wrexham area which is a credit to Colin, Steve and all the committee at the club. We have plans in place to strengthen the playing squad for next season and plan to return to the level the club should be playing at".
