Penycae v Brickfield Rangers

Penycae v Brickfield Rangers

Hopefully weather permitting we should return to League action with a home fixture against League leaders Brickfield Rangers, Kick off 2.00pm. The Karl Thomas Memorial Hall will be open along with "Bando's" offering Hot drinks and food and the match ball has kindly been sponsored by Jeff Owen. Manager Ian Andrews gave his thoughts ahead of the game, "This weekend we will hopefully welcome Brickfield Rangers to the riverside if the weather is good. The Visitors are currently top of the league and are one of the favourites to gain promotion, they are also managed by Simon Sedgwick who was in charge of Penycae in the Cymru alliance a few years back and done a good job of turning them into a strong Cymru Alliance side. We will have to be at the top of our game to get a result against them, I know we beat them away but we also had some luck and some great defending on the day. We have worked hard in training to maintain fitness levels and keep the players sharp but lack of game time might see us a bit rusty so we will need the substitutes to be ready for action. Mike Parry is suspended and James Triggs is injured are the only players missing this week, I have also been working hard on bringing 2/3 new signings in this week and fingers crossed they will be ready for Sat. It's our 1st game of 2018 and a big 2nd half of the season for us, we know we are in a battle and teams and others have written us off, but we will give our all every week and try and drag other teams around us into a fight for survival. I hope our loyal supporters turn up for the 1st home game of 2018 and give the players a boost.
