As most people are aware by now I have recently spent some considerable time in hospital where I underwent two big operations. Thankfully due to the wonderful treatment and care I received from the surgeons, doctors, nurses and staff at Wrexham Hospital I was able to come home recently after a long three weeks.
The whole experience has been a difficult time for not only myself but Sarah, my daughters Eleri and Llinos, my family and friends but what has been overwhelming during this time has been the amount of messages of support and concern via our clubs social media sites, the personal phone calls and texts, hospital visits, cards and even people taking the time to drop off books and magazines at reception for me, something I will always be eternally grateful for.
Whilst it’s great to be home I have been informed by my medical team that I do face a long and difficult road ahead to get back to where I was. It’s going to be a challenging time for me but anybody who knows me well enough will know that will not deter me. Unfortunately, what it does mean is I will be stepping down from my daily involvement with the club, something that is not going to come easy but for once I need to listen to not only the doctor’s but my own body.
I would like to pay special thanks to our Directors and volunteers who have done a fantastic job of keeping the club going in what has been a difficult time for us all.
Finally, I would like to wish all our Managers, coaches and players of our youth section all the best for the season as their campaign has recently got underway.
Hopefully, it’s not too long before I am well enough to attend a home fixture.
Thank you, Colin.
