After a long hard season and playing our last 6 games midweek, we were down to the bare 11 with manager
Ian Andrews having to play. On a hot night and no subs, we were up against it but told the lads that no pressure is on us to get a result. The players have been brilliant all season with there attitude and commitment and we're the same tonight. We settled into the game very well and looked a threat going forward, Hawarden were looking to catch us out by playing long balls over the top, but we dealt with that quite easily. On 20 mins we took the lead when
Ian Andrews released
Alex Rowlands down the left, his pin point cross picked out
Elliott Kavanagh who finished past the keeper. This clearly rattled Hawarden and they began to apply some pressure, 5 mins before half time Hawarden equalised when the centre back powered a header into the top corner for 1-1 at half time. The 2nd half was an even affair until a mix up between
Ryan Jones and keeper
Josh Williams who allowed the striker to nip in between them and tap the ball into the empty net. We had a good go at Hawarden to try and get an equaliser but had no joy. A great effort from the players who gave everything on the night and were unfortunate not to get anything from the game. I would like to thank all players and supporters for sticking by us this season which has been really tough, but will will rebuild and come back stronger next season.
