Another midweek game and a very tough one against title chasing Buckley. We had to produce a top level performance to get anything from this game. After only 5 mins we found ourselves 1-0 down when poor marking from a corner allowed the striker a tap in after a header was won by the Buckley centre back. The next 5-10 mins was all Buckley as they attacked with pace down both wings and putting dangerous crosses into out box. We managed to get ourselves into the game and should have equalised when a great run and cross from Austin Owen found Alex Rowlands at the far post but he shot wide when he should have scored. 5 mins before half time it was 2-0 when we were caught out by a long ball over the top and the striker finished it off. Ht 2-0. Buckley were the better side but we still managed to create chances, if the chances go in then we are back in the game, this was the message at half time. The 2nd half was a difficult one as Buckley dominated and scored a further 4 goals, we did manage a consolation goal through Alex Rowlands but the damage had been done. The story of our season, not taking chances when in good positions and then getting caught out of position and conceding soft goals. Buckley were the better team tonight, we have got to be more disciplined in our shape and jobs to get anything from these games, otherwise teams will take advantage like Buckley did tonight. Ft 6-1.
