Looking for an improvement after last week's disaster at Llanuwchllyn, we were entertaining castell alun in the Welsh Cup. We started the game very brightly and looked sharp up front and creating chances. We went 1-0 up when an
Alex Rowlands free kick was headed at goal by
Ryan Jones who saw it saved but
Josh Millington was on hand to bundle the ball home. This gave us confidence and
Alex Rowlands made it 2-0 with an unstoppable shot into the top corner from 20yds. We kept on attacking and after closing down the opposition near there box, good work from
Alex Rowlands who crossed for
Austin Owen to slot home for 3-0. Soon after it was 4-0 when
Alex Rowlands again picked the ball up inside the box and finished into the bottom corner. With the referee about to blow for half time a sloppy back pass give the striker an opportunity to break free, he knocked the ball past
Josh Williams outside the box and went to ground, the referee blew for a foul and awarded a penalty much to the amusement of our players and theirs. From the penalty the half time score was 4-1. More of the same was the message in the changing room, and not to drop there levels. Within 8 minutes of the 2nd half the score was 4-3 which included some terrible defending and an own goal. We made a couple of changes to freshen things up and get more pace on the pitch. With 15 mins to go
Mike Parry went on a mazy run from the halfway line and finished off with a great finish into the bottom corner to make it 5-3. A lot of attacking positives from this game, but we can't keep on giving goals away to teams.
