After the rain struck again on a Saturday we moved our fixture to the 4g pitch at Cefn Druids. We had a full squad with just Adam Peters (suspended) and Callum Williams missing out. With a good squad available for the 1st time in a while, we were confident of getting something from the game. The game got off to the worst start possible with us conceding a goal after 2mins,very poor defending from us, allowing a free cross into the box which evaded everyone and hit the post and it came off Ryan Jones and into the net. For the next 15-20 mins we got back into the game and began to create chances with Austin Owen going close a couple of times and Alex Rowlands causing problems with his set piece delivery. Same old story for us though as we don't take our chances, we then get punished again for poor defending from a corner allowing the Llanuwchllyn player a free header at the far post for 2-0. A really poor goal to concede, considering we had 9 players defending in our box and not 1 challenged for the ball. HT 2-0. With a change of formation and introduction of Adam Yeap, we began the 2nd half well, beginning to play out from the back and getting down the wings getting crosses into the box. Then on 56 mins we gifted Llanuwchllyn another simple goal, after a back pass was played to Matt Griffiths his attempted pass went straight to the striker and he lofted the ball into the empty net. On 76 mins it was 4-0 when we lost possession and the Llanuwchllyn players were queuing up to slot the ball home, it stayed at 4-0 but could have been 6/7 had Llanuwchllyn been more clinical. A really disappointing result and performance from us today, our mistakes are unacceptable at this level and we are rightly getting punished for them. We have now got to raise the mood in the camp for 2 big games against Hawarden and Rhostyllen coming up.
