With a few players missing due to work commitments we made a few changes to our line up from Saturday. The changes did not affect our attacking play and we started very well against Llay and looked dangerous up front, we also looked solid at the back with
Josh Millington and
Dyfan Smith playing in central defence. With the pressure we were putting on Llay we needed to make the breakthrough but a couple of great chances were squandered with only the keeper to beat. Llay also had a chance just before half time to score but failed to get a shot on target. Ht 0-0.
Goals win games was the message at half time to the players, again we started well and pushed Llay back, and 10 mins into the 2nd half
Austin Owen was played through by Tom Miller, his pace got him ahead of the defender and he shot home from 20yds. This should have give us confidence to push on, but we Sat back and invited Llay on to us. This gave Llay confidence and they started to create chances and put pressure on our goal. After a break in play where we lost
Austin Owen to injury Llay were awarded a dubious penalty for holding in the box, both players were doing it but the referee only deemed ours was a foul and awarded the spot kick. Llay converted the penalty and it was game on, Llay pressed for the winner, but full credit to our lads for defending very well and sticking it out. Ft 1-1. A game of 2 halves where we should have been 2/3 up at half time and Llay deserved to equalise and bossed the 2nd half.
