Penycae almost pulled off the result of the day but narrowly went down 4-3 at home against FC Nomads. Spare a thought for Jack Abrahams making his Penycae debut netting a hat-trick but still finished on the losing side. Manager Ben Heath was left to reflect, “The result was difficult to take and after we got ourselves in a commanding position we just switched off. As I see it, we face a relegation dog fight and need 4 wins from the remaining 9 games which will be a tall order. Nomads manager Steve Hughes commented “It really was a classic case of a game of 2 halves. We were second best first half and they wanted it more than us and we trailed 2-0. The second half was completely a different story and we showed great character to dominate and end up 4-3 winners. Goals from Charley Robertson, Danny Sullivan, Kyle Reid and Ben Howarth put us 4-2 up before they scored an injury time consolation”.
