In a repeat of last season, it is Brymbo that are setting the pace and they chalked up a convincing 3-0 success over Penycae leaving manager Phil Hudson time to take stock “We were right up for it today as we knew it would be a tough game with players missing but to a man we were excellent and more than deserved the 3 points. Jamie Cumming and Andy Noonan put us 2-0 in front at half-time then another Jamie Cumming goal in the second half sealed the 3 points.” Penycae boss Ben Heath was forced to field a depleted side saying “I was gutted that two players pulled out on the day so it was not a great start. The lads didn’t play too bad in fact we were the better footballing side for large parts but we got hit on the counter and they scored from way out. Keeper Tom Belton gifted them a goal before half time but despite playing so well, nothing worked in the final third. Conner Kendrick had a nailed on penalty waved away which summed our day up and finally after making third sub with 20 minutes to go Kyle Davies sprained his ankle so finished with 10 men conceding another sloppy goal to finish 3-0.
