Penycae failed to match the dominance of Holywell Town who still remain the only undefeated side at this level and Penycae boss was quick to praise his opponents with him saying “We lost to what I would call a more experienced team. They punished us for every mistake and lack of ability to manage the game like basic defending cost us but at least Jack Brindley managed a lone consolation goal. The Wellmen went nap after racing into a 3-0 lead with only 20 minutes on the clock and they had Jake Cooke, Mark Connolly and Jacob Wise. The jewel in the Holywell crown was Connolly whose brace in the second half allowed him to complete his treble. It was his 4th hat-trick of the season taking his tally to 18 goals. Manager John Haseldin added “It was a big 3 points on the road for us today. We played some really good football especially in the first half and everyone worked their socks off when we went down to 10 following Jamie Renshaws dismissal around the hour mark. I would also like to praise our loyal supporters that travelled to the game in arctic conditions to get behind the lads.”
