Our game at Berriew did not get of to the best possible start when our leading goalscorer Austin Owen who not for the first time this season dislocated his shoulder in the warm up. The game started with both teams enjoying lots of the ball with out actually creating any goal scoring opportunities. Then in the 26th minute we suffered another injury this time to Tom Edwards who had to be stretched off with a serious knee injury. In the 30th minute Jack Williams gave the hosts the lead with a fine finish following some good work down the wing. Just before half time we were denied a penalty when a berriew defender appeared to handle a cross from Mike Parry.
A strong start to the second half saw Jaden Jones level for us in the 47th minute and after this we took the game to the hosts and created several chances which we failed to convert. Then against the run of play we conceded a second when we failed to clear from a free kick, despite this we continued to take the game to Berriew and were again very unlucky when the referee failed to award a penalty after Josh Mazzarella was brought down. To make matters worse the hosts were then awarded a dubious penalty in the 83rd minute which Josh Evans converted to leave the final score 3-1. All in all a very frustrating afternoon in which the performance deserved more.
