After having 4 away games on the bounce it was nice to back at the Riverside.

The main aim of todays match was to start fast and put Cefn Mawr straight under pressure, and more clinical in front of goal.

We started strongly as we have most games and had a few half chances but on 10 mins a perfectly weighted through ball from Ben Richards released Tom Edwards who raced clear to convert past the on rushing keeper on 10 minutes. It only took 4 minutes to double our lead and Edwards total for the day as the overlapping Natty Davies cut in to square for Tom Edwards to convert at the back post.

While we were creating chances our shape became a bit disjointed as we showed a lack of maturity and went a bit gungho looking for goals, and when we failed to clear in our own box Cefn pulled one back on 19 minutes.

For the rest of the half we attacked but decision making in the final third was letting us down and Cefn were unlucky to not go in all square at the break but for a close range save from Ben Darlington to deny them.

Half time we re-grouped and put on a dominant performance. Despite numerous chnaces it took until the 60th minute when Josh Mazzarella made a advancing run from full back, cut in from the left and unleashed a bullet of a strike in to the top corner. Five minutes later he had another chance similar but this time the strike was well saved by the Cefn keeper.

Chances came but we couldn't convert as Ben Richards rattled the bar from 30 yards and Ruben Montetio had his chances well saved.

On 86 minutes Ben Richards got the goal he deserved as Ramone Nelson slid the ball through for him to run on to before slotting low to the keepers left. Ramone Nelson then got his first goal for the club as he slotted home into the bottom corner.

A strong dominant performance from the young lads and sets us up nicely for a busy month of October with 6 games in 4 weeks as we make our first ever bow in the Welsh U19's FA Cup & NEWFA U19's cup.
