We made the short trip to local neighbours Cefn Albion looking to continue our fine start to the season and we got of to a dream start when we were awarded a penalty in the 10th minute following a handball on the goal line by Jamie Foulkes which also resulted in a red card. Up stepped top goal scorer Austin Owen to convert and put us 1-0 in front. Five minutes later we were awarded another penalty when Gary Evans was brought down in the box but unfortunately this time Austin Owen failed to convert with Jack Edwards in the Cefn goal pulling off a great save. Despite chances for both teams the score remained 1-0 till half time.
The second half was an even affair with both teams creating and missing chances but in 58th minute Cefn drew level when a misplaced pass by in our own penalty area resulted in Heitor Leitao tapping into an empty net to make it 1-1. Things got worse in the 60th minute when Callum Mannion struck a fine shot from outside the box to put the home team 2-1 up. We were then ourselves reduced to 10 men in the 79th minute when Les Morris picked up his second yellow card of the game and was sent off. The game became a scrappy affair and then in the 88th minute Michael Latham was also sent off for picking up his second yellow card of the game. There was no more goals and we unfortunately suffered our first defeat of the season to Cefn Albion who were worthy winners.
